Health app

The goal is to streamline digital healthcare experience and spend max 3–4 hours to complete the assignment.

Situation

At the moment, the app has already the following features:

  • Booking a time for an expert

  • Chat / online clinic

  • Previous visits to doctor/healthcare expert

  • Linking to Ahma’s responsive web page containing patient’s own information

There are also some use cases that seem to occur frequently, but are not supported well enough in the app (see below). The assumption is that supporting these would create significant value for Ahma’s customers.

Goals

  • choose 2 of the use cases and design a UI that would support these cases for the user.

  • create one app design that a user can use to solve both of the use cases (consider also how the existing features affect your design but you don’t have to draw them in more detail).

Overview

Home page and Profile

  1. The app has a personalized greeting for a user.

  2. By clicking on a profile picture, a user can access his/her account page and manage settings.

  3. A user can search for a doctor or symptoms, read a recommended article.

  4. The top services are located “one click away” and can be found on the Home page. (Doctors to see all doctors in a clinic or access past visits. Analyzes for lab results).

  5. Next appointment reminder.

  6. Navigation bar provides a user with quick access to the Home page, Chat/Online clinic, Search button, Notifications’ page and “Book an appointment” button (Calendar icon).

Use case 1: Vaccines

  1. Vaccines’ feature was added as it was not previously supported in the app. A user can find it from the Home page.

  2. On the “Vaccines” page a user can book a vaccine, see a vaccination history and check which vaccines are required when traveling. An article about the latest vaccine info is available.

  3. The app provides Anne with important information about vaccine renewing based on her vaccination history. Booking functionality is available.

  4. On the “Vaccines for travelers’ page Anne can use search for a destination/a town/a country. Then the app provides her with the latest information on what vaccines are required for her trip.

  5. Based on vaccination history the app informs Anne that she already has all required vaccines, and she is all set to travel or what vaccines are missing.

Use Case 2: Prescriptions

  1. Prescriptions’ feature was added as it was not previously supported in the app. A user can find it from the Home page.

  2. Anne can find out if her prescription is still valid, how many doses are left as was asked in the use case.

  3. Anne can see her expired prescriptions and articles targeted for her based on her medical history.

Result

  • A simple, neat and efficient user interface for new and existing customers of Ahma Health.

  • All available space is used to provide a user with useful and needed content.

  • New and existing features are combined so a user gets a consistent and clear experience.

  • My thinking is user-centered and customer-oriented. For ex., I thought about Anne’s needs and commercial potential (“call to action”) such as the “Book an appointment” button on the navigation bar for Ahma health.

  • To validate the designed user experience, I would use hallway testing and peer review. These methods are quick and free to receive feedback.
